The Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort has won gold and has entered the 'hall of fame' for the Steve Irwin Award for Ecotourism.

Northern Australia's largest colony of free-roaming Koalas can be found on Magnetic Island. Koalas can often be seen snoozing in trees during the day, or on the move from tree to tree on forest floors at night.
