Monarto Zoo is the largest open-range zoo in the world and is home to more than 500 animals and 50 exotic and native mammals, birds and reptiles. The Zu-Loop Shuttle Buses depart at regular intervals running on a continual loop throughout the Sanctuary and provide visitors the flexibility to enjoy the zoo at their own pace by linking the numerous viewing platforms and walking trails.Traveling through African and Asian wildlife habitat areas, where herds of exotic, grassland dwelling animals like giraffe, cheetah, zebra, antelope and ostrich can be seen at close proximity. Our carnivore exhibit housing Hyena, Painted Dogs and Lions are also a highlight. Visitors can also enjoy our extensive 14 kilometres of walking trails which link up to all Zu-Loop shuttle stops and viewing platforms. Visitors can walk along nature trails that offer opportunities to experience the beauty of the mallee woodland habitat, and to see the abundant native bird life and other wildlife in the area. The Park is a protected nature sanctuary with diverse and fascinating fauna and flora.

Located 429 km north of Adelaide, Wilpena Pound lies in the heart of the north Flinders Ranges and is a remarkable natural amphitheatre covering nearly 8000 hectares. It is a huge flat plain covered in scrub and trees and totally surrounded by jagged hills which form a rim. From the ground it looks like a rugged low mountain range which can easily be traversed. When you reach the top you look across the plain and can clearly see the hills around the edges. From the air it is a remarkable sight.

Coober Pedy is an opal mining town located in the harsh Outback of South Australia, some 850 kilometres north of Adelaide and 680 kilometres south of Alice Springs. Coober Pedy is recognised as the largest producer of opal in the world with an estimated 70% of the world's precious opal being mined in the opal fields of the area. Coober Pedy is also famous for its underground accommodation to escape the heat. One of the most popular local attractions is the Old Timer's Mine; which is the oldest mine in the town, hand-dug in 1916. It is now a museum featuring a self-guided walk through tour of display galleries, two underground homes and precious seams of opal. The Umoona Mine & Museum contains an underground house, Aboriginal interpretive centre, panoramic theatre, historic displays, opal retail shop and showroom plus Aboriginal arts and crafts.
